Notes: Geez! I don't think it took Frodo this long to get to freakin' Mount Doom! I think I just got lapped by Moses and a bunch of Israelites . . .
One thing this little exercise has shown is exactly how much I can dither. Writing is, like, the only thing I really have to do each day (apart from the occasional errand and the times when cabin fever drives me nuts and forces me outdoors); you'd think I might pick up the pace just a little. You know? It's not like I don't have 3 other books to write, along with various and sundry short stories, and an Illustrated History of Orcs*.
It's time for duct tape and a sweet tea I.V. . . .
*Don't laugh -- I swear I'm going to write that someday and it's gonna be made of awesome!

Yes, your sluggishness has reached Biblical proportions. Get crackin'.
"an Illustrated History of Orcs"? Cool, do I get to draw the pictures? Oh, that's right, you haven't seen my "Scott as Orc" illustration yet. I'm saving it for when you finish LOC. Remember, the longer you take, the more nose hairs I draw in.
Of course, on an Orc, that might not be such a bad thing... hmm...
I sometimes find that I get more done when I have a lot of other crap to do as well. I'm forced to be efficient then.
Think of it this way: the sooner you're done with LoC the sooner you can write your Orcs book.
I can relate, though. I don't have a family to distract me, and not much of a job; you'd think I'd have finished at least one of the six books I'm working on by now, but no way ....
Oh yes...I know this state all too well. Hopefully back to work tomorrow after a week of mainly editing other people's stuff!
I did attend an all day class in editing fiction last weekend though. Learned some really cool and valuable things...
